There are nights when I’m like, “GIVE ME ALL THE COCKTAILS!” And our trip to Stanton & Greene in Capitol Hill in DC was one of those nights.

You’ll be pleased to know I didn’t drink ALL the cocktails, but I definitely tried a sip of most items from their newly launched cocktail menu. It helps that Scott and I divide and conquer on our date nights, so we enjoy double the trouble when it comes to eats and drinks. And when I’m really lucky, Scott will trade if I like his better ;)

Since we had never been to Stanton & Greene before, we loved getting a fresh look at neighborhood staple, and we were most smitten by the upstairs event space. White-wash brick, leather couches, and rustic elements joined forces to make the atmosphere undeniably chic. I mean, come on. And it’s not just the handsome man sitting there… (though admittedly, I’m staring…)

The drinks were well designed and crafted with precision. House-made tonics completed the menu, and sampling the tonic solo was indicative of how much it added to the rest of the drink. All were garnished and photogenic, and though we had our favorites, we can understand how all items would be irresistible to the right palette. We preferred the “Little Torch” and the “Battle of DC”.

We have yet to try any of the food items, but are excited to head back sometime this summer to do so, and we can provide you with a more complete look at Date Night then.

In the meantime, have you been? What’s up your alley from the new menu?
