We have a fond place in our heart for Jack Rose, as we celebrated our engagement perched at their bar the night after Scott popped the question.

Not only does Jack Rose boast a staggering 2390 whiskey bottles on their wall (and counting!), but little did we know that if your trek upstairs to the back of the restaurant, you’ll open a door and step into paradise. Think of it as Wizard of Oz for Tiki-lovers.

The Tiki Bar at Jack Rose is right up our alley – after taking a Tiki cocktail class a few years ago, we appreciate the finesse of classic and inventive Tiki. After getting lei’d (giggle),  we enjoyed watching Denise the bartender work her magic while nibbling on a few items off the menu – chips and GUACAMOLE, ginger rum-glazed wings, and pork belly skewers.

After a few fabulous tiki cocktails, we moved in to the Terrace Grille to try a few new drinks and their incredible taco selection and soft shell crab sandwiches. Though the chicken and steak was awesome, we adored the shrimp tacos.

Jack Rose’s Tiki Bar is open weekly from Thursday (with 1/2 price happy hour!!) through Saturday.  Three of our favorite cocktails? The Coco Face (Hamilton Demerara Rum, Ancho Reyes, Almond-Coco Cream, Cinnamon-Chili Honey Syrup and Pineapple), the Ryghty Tyghty (Dickel Rye, Tropical Tea-Infused Dry Vermouth, Housemade Orgeat, Lime and Tiki Bitters) and the Tidal Wave (Tanqueray Gin, Blue Curacao, Guava Nectar and Lime).  The drinks are impressive enough, but the island themed glasses should help put you in the tiki spirit.

Ok, we’ve shared ours, now you share yours: where do YOU tiki??
Cheers!
