This weekend is a great excuse to order wings, pizza, and other Super Bowl food favorites. We’ve been reviewing press releases and social media accounts to see who is offering the best takeout for the big game, and what we’ve found looks more than appetizing.

If you’re not going to the bar to watch, here are 5 Super Bowl foods you should be ordering:

  1. The recently opened Lena’s Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap is going one step beyond pizzas (you can add these at regular price) and offering a $40 take-out package for Sunday. The platter includes a Mixed Greens Salad, 24 Chicken Wings, 4 of Lena’s Giant Meatballs, and their Grilled Focaccia.

This should give you an idea of the meatballs we’re talking about!

  2. Shop local for your beer, and since Port City Brewing Company is celebrating their 5th anniversary, we choose them. Optimal Wit would be our first choice, but you you can’t go wrong with this Alexandria favorite.
    LaborDay-4

                                                                                         Pineapple not included.

  3. There should always be room for dessert, so think donuts! Sugar Shack has multicolored sweets for the Broncos and Panthers, just remember to pre-order to guarantee they aren’t gone. Astro Doughnuts and Fried Chicken will have football-shaped Boston Cream doughnuts available at the G Street location (6 doughnuts for $15). The Falls Church location will include 24 fried chicken wings, either spicy garlic of Sriracha, along with the doughnuts for $45.
  4. If you’re spending the game close to Falls Church, Pizzeria Orso has you covered with this impressive sounding platter. Make sure to call (703)226-3460 to reserve yours, and pick up is available Saturday, February 6th and Sunday, February 7th, 2016 only.

pizzeria orso5. With number 5, we need your help! Where are the best chicken wings in the Washington, DC area, that allow you to order takeout? We’ve heard a vote for the wings at Carmine’s, which we plan on checking out.

Super Bowl foods and specials can also be found at Texas Jacks Barbecue, City Tap House, Macon Bistro, nopa, Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab before and during the big game.
