The lighting is dim, the bar is long, and bottles of whiskey are showcased on the walls. Jack Rose Dining Saloon is a whiskey lover’s dream, and ideal for those seeking a traditional saloon experience. This is one spot won’t try and blow you away with TVs around the bar, but they will amaze you with drink presentations and overall atmosphere.

After hearing all the positive reviews and the 1800 bottles of whiskey in stock, we finally made it out to Jack Rose Dining Saloon. If you’re like me and know very little about whiskey this might be an overwhelming place for you. I couldn’t imagine sitting anywhere other than at the bar, so we were in luck when two seats opened up when we walked in. Before looking at the cocktail menu I had to take a minute and gaze over the walls that were covered in bottles, most of which I had never seen before. What probably leaves collectors in awe will certainly leave a novice more than impressed.

When we finally got around to ordering we started with a glass of sparkling wine (it was National Champagne Day) and the Big Trouble in Little China-China. If you’re not a whiskey fan, or prefer other cocktails there are plenty of options that include different liquors, beer, and wines. Our dinner reservations were still an hour away, so following those drinks we ordered another round this time trying the Uncharted Seas. The drinks were all well-crafted and perfect for sipping over conversation at the bar.
