This past Tuesday, May 13, marked the 24th Annual Chef’s Best Dinner and Auction that included 50 of the area’s top Chefs and their signature dishes. The event raises money for Food & Friends, and organization that provides home-delivered meals, groceries, and nutrition counseling to people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other life-challenging illnesses free of charge. In addition to wonderful food being offered to all of those in attendance, the offerings at the auction and the bids that were given clearly showed the support for this great cause.

From Co Co. Sala to Doi Moi we were thrilled to see of our favorite restaurants, as well as some new favorites in attendance. As for favorite plates there were many – we even got to try bacon ice cream, a first for both of us. Al was smitten with Ambar, a southeastern  restaurant in DC, which we have already put on the bucket list.

There are definitely great events to attend in the area, but it’s those that support causes we can all get behind that are the most incredible. We look forward to a lifetime of supporting such a great cause, and you can bet we’ll be at the 25th Chef’s Best next year!
