Allow that tune to play in your head for a minute – and then imagine me doing my training montage, packing boxes and cleaning out this apartment.

That’s right – one week from today, Scott and I will have already taken over occupancy at our very first apartment together.

We have been waiting a rather long time for this, and though the apartment search proved to be an arduous one, we couldn’t be happier about where we will be settling.

Now comes the interesting part – the combining of the goods. Your picture, my plates, your plant stand, my TV. That stuff. It’s hard looking at all of the things you have accumulated over the years, the things that were a strictly “mine” ordeal, and now see them as “ours”.

But honestly? That’s what I am looking forward to the most. The merging of it all.  The other day, Scott made a crack about letting me have the master bedroom walk-in for my clothes, and he would take the walk-in in the second bedroom.

Ummm….? Negative, ghostrider.

I told him I wanted our clothes to co-habitate, and that way they could play all day while we were at work.

I’m excited to finally be rid of the days where its a constant struggle of who will go where (and Scott was the true champ, spending all of his time here because I had the dogs) and packing bags and such for the weekend.

A lot of women my age want the fairy tale. I want the every day. I want the dirty socks, the bathroom sink/mirror congestion in the morning, and the stack of dishes in the sink from an evening meal at home.

I want the every day.

Cannot wait for the week to be over, and the next chapter of our lives to begin.
